2023 Minnesota Recap

My first full year of owning and operating Fin-N-Bone Outfitters is in the books and all I can say is I am very happy how year one went, and I'm SUPER excited for the future and the changes and improvements we are going to be doing starting in 2024.  We took some great bucks with the biggest grossing 173" along with one of the most impressive eight pointers I've ever seen!

As some of you may have heard or seen, I am now going archery only in Minnesota with a 140" minimum on all my properties.  Doing this is going to improve the properties overal,l and the size of the bucks on them, and we are going to have more and more opportunites to harvest some absolute slammers on my properties.  I'm also going to be adding more food plots to the properties where I can.  I've had the discussion with the land owners and have received the "OK" to do this.  This should improve the hunting overall and especially should help improve the opener week in September.  With archery only, I've got to really fine tune the stands for closer shots and we've already started doing that.  Stacy and I already started hanging new stands here in January getting ready for this fall.  I've got a lot of new stand locations to get up and to fine tune some existing ones just from feedback from my hunters and what they said deer were doing, along with getting some moved to just get the deer in closer range with the archery only now.  We have our work cut out for us, but as soon as the snow is gone this spring, we will be hitting the properties and getting them fine tuned for this fall.  Can't wait!!
