We recently just finished up the last of our season down in Iowa. This year was definitely our best year yet down in Iowa. We shot some great deer with the bow, shotgun, and muzzleloader with a 178" archery buck being our biggest of the season. We had some great guys in camp this year and we also passed some really good deer that are going to be slammers this year and I thank everyone who passed those deer.
Starting in 2024 I'm going to increase the minimum on bucks shot to 140" on any buck up to nine points. All bucks 10 points or bigger, I now have a 150" minimum. Iowa is a very special place and I've got great landowners and some great pieces of land that we can really grow some big deer on. As is the case after each season, I have some new stands to hang and also have to move some stands just to fine tune them. I've got a game plan for that already and now just waiting until the snow is gone to sart getting after that. We will also be making a trip down early spring to do some shed hunting and see what is still around. I've also got some exciting news coming. I have an accepted offer on a small piece of property with a cabin and shed on it and will be able to host some of the hunters instead of having to rent a cabin or hotel where we currently do. Stay tuned for more information on that after we close.
